AYODHYALIVE BHU: Funds will not be an obstacle for ensuring high-quality teaching and research: Prof. Sudhir Jain

BHU : Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain interacted with faculty members of the  Faculty of Visual Arts. He said that funds will not be an obstacle in ensuring high-quality teaching and research in Banaras Hindu University. He added that BHU administration will leave no stone unturned in making available the best of facilities and resources for quality teaching and research. He said that the Faculty of Visual Arts is known for its unparalleled talent andspecializationn as well as its contribution teaching and learning in the area of visual arts. .

It’s time that we should make efforts to take the faculty to newer heights of success and fame, said Prof. Jain. The vice-chancellor said that the faculty offers a number of programs and nurtures students in various art forms, however, it also needs to reform and evolve as per the changing times and the need of the hour. For this the faculty should consider offering new programs and courses. Responding to a suggestion on starting a course on animation, the Vice-Chancellor said that faculty should consider adding new disciplines which have a greater scope with regard to the current scenario of art and design.

He informed that the building of the faculty is being renovated to meet the space requirement. In the over three hour long interaction Prof. Jain also asked faculty members about the challenges and difficulties they face in the course of teaching and routine duties. He also sought suggestions to resolve the issues. He said the key to take the institution forward is mutual respect, cordiality and cooperation among members of the university.

He assured that funds will be provided to the faculty to meet the infrastructure and machinery related requirements. The vice-chancellor also released a book published by the faculty on the Drishya Kashi exhibition it had organised a few months ago. The exhibition displayed the works of Kashi based artists. Dean, Faculty of Visual Arts, Prof. D. P. Mohanty delivered the vote of thanks.
