His mother Usha Sunak was a pharmacist and father Yashveer Sunak was a general physician. He is the eldest of three siblings in his family. Yashwant Sunak who is the father of Rishi Sunak was born in Kenya while his mother Usha was born in Tanzania. However, Sunak associates himself with India because his grandfather was an Indian. That’s why they call themselves of Indian origin. Rishi Sunak’s brother Sanjay is a psychologist, as well as his sister Rakhi who works in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for Peacebuilding and the United Nations.

Both Akshata and Rishi were studying MBA at Stanford. You will know that Akshata Murthy is the daughter of Indian billionaire NR Narayana Murthy. Along with the wife being of Indian origin, the grandparents of Rishi Sunak have also been Indians, for this reason it is said that the relationship of the sage is deep with India. When Rishi Sunak reached Parliament as an MP, he took oath by placing his hands on the Gita. Rishi Sunak and his wife have two daughters, they live near Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

Political journey of Rishi Sunak Rishi Sunak was associated with job and then business after finishing his studies in the early days of his life. He first entered the UK Parliament in 2014. In October 2014, Sunak was the Conservative Party’s candidate from the Richmond constituency, where he won. After winning the election, he served on the UK Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee from 2015 to 2017. After this, Rishi Sunak got huge votes in the year 2017. After which he was once again elected as an MP. Seeing his excellent working style, on 24 July 2019, the then Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson appointed him as the Chief Secretary of the Treasury.
