BHU : 5 YEAR OLD DISCHARGED AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLEX SURGERY AT BHU HOSPITAL
AN IRON ROD HAD PIERCED INTO THE CHILD’S ABDOMEN
BHU DOCTORS CONDUCTED A LONG AND COMPLEX SURGERY TO TAKE OUT THE IRON ROD
CHILD WAS UNDER OBSERVATION FOR ABOUT TEN DAYS AT BHU
VARANASI: A 5-year-old boy from Mau district, who underwent successful surgery after he was grievously injured following a fall on iron rods, has been discharged from the Trauma Centre, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. The child was brought to Trauma Centre on 25th October 2022, at around 9.30 pm, with an iron rod pierced into his abdomen. The child had fallen from the terrace onto a pile of rods, resulting in the impaction of a 7 feet long iron rod across his abdomen. The boy was rushed immediately to the Trauma Centre, BHU, after which he was promptly evaluated & shifted to the operation theatre. He was operated upon by a team of Doctors from the Dept. of Pediatric Surgery, comprising Dr. Vaibhav Pandey (HOD), Dr. Sunil, Dr. Seth, Dr. Rajat, and another team comprising Dr. Amir, and Dr. Anusuya, headed by Dr. Manjari Mishra. The advanced facilities available with Trauma Centre, at the Trauma Centre especially the vessel status played a vital role in saving the life of the patient. The entire surgery & treatment were made available to the patient, free of cost. The patient was closely monitored and recovered well. Dr. Vaibhav Pandey informed me that the boy was discharged on 4th November 2022.
