THE VICE-CHANCELLOR EXHORTS FACULTY MEMBERS TO CARRY OUT COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH WITH TOP INSTITUTIONS
PROF. SUDHIR JAIN INTERACTS WITH THE FACULTY OF THE INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
REITERATES THE NEED TO HAVE A DIVERSE CAMPUS IN ORDER TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE OUTLOOK OF STUDENTS
VARANASI: Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain has exhorted the faculty members to carry out quality collaborative research and academic activities with their counterparts in top educational institutions. He was interacting with the faculty members of the Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University. Praising the institute and its members for their commendable work, the vice-chancellor urged them to reach out to prestigious institutions, especially those with higher rankings, for planning and executing collaborative projects. “The university will support and facilitate such endeavors which aim to further uplift the academic and research profile of BHU”, said the Vice-Chancellor. He added that the university is fully committed to developing an ecosystem that supports those who are passionate about research and steps are being taken to achieve this.
Prof. Jain said that as teachers we must make sure that our students have better opportunities of growth and welfare and we must constantly keep working in that direction. He reiterated the need of having a diverse campus where students from all parts of the world interact, study and work with each other which will help them in developing their outlooks and personalities. He sought suggestions from faculty members in making campus life smooth and hassle-free for students. He suggested that faculty members should also explore the avenues of gaining industry experience for their own growth and the benefit of students. The vice-chancellor proposed that the best practices being adopted by globally renowned educational institutions in admissions and academic activities may be studied and followed if required, as it will help in achieving excellence. He said as teachers our sole purpose must be to groom students into responsible citizens.
Prof. S. K. Dubey, Director, Institute of Management Studies, BHU, welcomed the vice-chancellor and briefed him about the journey of the institute. He informed me that the faculty members are publishing in top-rated journals, which has uplifted the profile of the institute further. He informed me that despite the Covid19 pandemic, the institute has been able to maintain the academic calendar and meet all the timelines.
Dr. Arun Deshmukh made a presentation and brief about the various activities of the institute. He also presented data with regard to admission, placements, alumni, and other key features of the institute. Faculty members also offered suggestions in order to overall development of students.
