Indian Air Force receives over 94,000 applications under the Agnipath scheme
Getting an overwhelming response, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has received more than 94,000 applications for the recruitment under ‘Agnipath scheme’ within four days.
The registration process was started on 24th June by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for recruiting Agniveer Vayu. The application process will go on till 5th July 2022.
“A total of 94,281 Agniveer Vayu aspirants have registered till 10:30 am (Monday). Registration closes on July 5,” Defence Ministry Spokesperson A Bharat Bhushan Babu mentioned in a Twitter post.
Till Sunday, the Indian Air Force had received 56,960 applications under the transformative recruitment defense scheme.

As per the official notification by Indian Air Force, “For Agniveers below the age of 18, the enrolment form will need to be signed by the parents or guardians, by extant provisions. The selection process will be held in two phases and only those candidates who clear Phase 1 will be eligible to appear for Phase 2.”
Notably, once enrolled into the Air Force, the Agniveers will be governed under the Air Force Act 1950, for four years.
The detailed notification by IAF lists out the eligibility criteria, examination fee, terms and conditions, age limit, medical standards, financial benefits including salary, insurance, and the procedure for the Phase 1 and Phase 2 selection process.

For eligibility criteria, the candidates must have completed their class 10. Apart from this, the Agniveer Vayu aspirant also has their intermediate/10+2 or equivalent mark sheet.
In case, the candidates are applying via an engineering diploma, they must be able to produce their final mark sheet from a government-recognized polytechnic.
Further, the aspirant age should fall between December 29, 1999, and June 29, 2005, including both days, are eligible to apply. In case, an aspirant clears all the stages of the selection procedure, then the upper age limit of the date of enrolment is 23 years.
The Final Results
The final list of successful candidates will be published on 11th December 2022. E-Call letter only shall be sent to candidates, including standby candidates, who called for enrolment on their Registered e-mail IDs.
Upon completion of four years of service, based on the organization’s requirements and policies promulgated by the Indian Air Force, Agniveer Vayu will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Indian Air Force. These applications will be considered in a centralized manner based on objective criteria including performance during their four-year engagement period and up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveer Vayu will be enrolled in a regular cadre of IAF.
