In the continuation of National Seminar “Women in Indian Police System: Working, Efficiency and Effectiveness”
In the continuation of the two-day National Seminar “Women in Indian Police System: Working, Efficiency and Effectiveness” today , it started with technical session- II followed by technical session -III and then by valedictory session which ended with certificate distribution to the delegates.
Technical session -II focused on Role of Women Police Against and Under Patriarchy, Prof. Sonali Singh, Department of Political Science, BHU chaired the session. And, Dr. Bagisha Suman, Department of Political Science, BHU was the discussant of the session. In technical session III capturing women in Facing the Challenges, Prof. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Coordinator, Malaviya Centre for Peace Research, BHU was chairperson, and, Dr. Priyanka Jha, Department of Political Science, BHU was discussant of the session. In these sessions, more than one dozen of paper presentation done by the delegates came from different universities and higher education institutions across India.
In the Valedictory programme, Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, DIG, Add. CP HQ and Crime, Varanasi and Ms. Mamta Rani Chaudhary, Add. DCP Women’s Crime and HQ. Varanasi as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively could not attempt due to an unavoidable reason. But we have earnest gratitude toward Dr. Archana Thakur, Joint Secretary, UGC, New Delhi as Guest of Honour. Additionally we had Prof. Binda Dattatrey Paranjape, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, BHU as Co-Patron. We received her kind words and appreciation for the success of the seminar.
Prof. Nidhi Sharma, Coordinator & Senior Director welcomed dignitaries and participants in each session. The entire programme was conducted by Ms. Ritu Kumar, Manimekhla, Charmi Jain & Mr. Abhimanyu. The report of the programme was read by Dr. Meenakshi Jha, Assistant Professor, Centre for Women’s Studies & Development, Faculty of Social Sciences, B.H.U. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Nidhi Sharma, Coordinator, Centre for Women’s Studies & Development, Faculty of Social Sciences, B.H.U.
