BHU CELEBRATES “CONSTITUTION DAY”
MEMBERS OF BHU FRATERNITY READ PREAMBLE OF THE CONSTITUTION
VICE-CHANCELLOR PROF. SUDHIR JAIN CALLS FOR SIMPLIFYING ADMINISTRATION AND MAKING IT MORE EFFECTIVE AND RESPONSIVE
Varanasi : As part of the ‘Constitution Day’ celebrations, members of Banaras Hindu University fraternity read the preamble of the Constitution of India. At a program in the Central Registry on Saturday, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain led the university fraternity in reading of the preamble. Those present included Rector Prof. V. K. Shukla, Registrar Prof. Arun Kumar Singh, Finance Officer Dr. Abhay Kumar Thakur, Dean of Students Prof. A. K. Nema, Chief Proctor Prof. Abhimanyu Singh and officers and staff of the university.
Later in a brief address to those present, the Vice-Chancellor said that as members of the university we must show utmost level of loyalty, integrity and dedication towards the institution. “This will be the true celebration of “Constitution Day” if we work and contribute in the best interest of the institution, which as a result will help the country move forward”, he said.
Prof. Jain called upon the members of the university to focus on simplifying the processes so that the students, faculty members and other stakeholders aren’t made to suffer due to bureaucratic and administrative complexities and delays. He said that if every unit or department simplifies at least 5% of its processes or working, we shall be able to improve 60% of the total working of the institution.
Several programs were also organized in various institutes and faculties of the university where faculty members, staff and students participated in the reading of the preamble of the Constitution of India.
